Sock  Monster Problems is the work of artist Chris Massingill.  When she's not wrangling monsters, Chris is a teaching artist who teaches public school art as well as workshops and private classes.

"Sock Monster Problems actually started in my classroom when I was having some students photograph their soft sculptures for their portfolios. I usually work along side my students so that I can show them what mistakes I've made so they can avoid them or demo a technique.  So, I started Instagramming  my example monsters.  (Did I just invent a word?)

I love making the monsters, but what I love even more is bringing them to life with their stories. "
